The way to install windows based application in linux using wine

For the beginners who use Linux, Maybe you will find some difficulties in using application in linux and absolutely you want to use commmon application that you always use in windows. In this case, you don't need to worry, because Linux has prepared an application called Wine. You can run windows based aplication in linux easily. here is the way install and use wine in Linux especially Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx

A. Installing wine in your system

1. Update your system

2. install wine microsoft windows compatibility layer by typing

sudo apt-get install wine

or you can use ubuntu software center ,application ->ubuntu software center ->get software wine ->install

B. Installing Windows based application in your system

1. 
   
   
   Through terminal

type:

# sudo bash

#wine File_setup.exe

for example : I install Aimp 2 in my system

Obey the installation wizard

wait until the process finish

after finish reboot your computer if necessary

   In this step, you have installed wine and a windows based application in your system

for running that application

applications → wine → Programs → choose a windows based application that you want to use
